With a calcium reactor you’ll need to find your dkh consumption per day. Once this has been established the ratio is 2ml per 0.5dkh

There are 4 bottles within our Trace Elements Support System:

1. Reef Booster
2. Reef Halogen
3. Reef Growth
4. Reef Metal (New Reef Metal Pro available)

You will need 4 dosing stations available.

For example, if your systems consumption is 0.5dkh per day you will be dosing the following:

Reef Growth 2ml/day (straight solution)
Reef Halogen 2ml/day (straight solution)
Reef Metals 2ml/day (straight solution)

Reef booster will be made up with 2L of Reverse Osmosis water. Once mixed, a daily dosing of 1ml per 100L of the system’s full volume.

Each bottle is 1L. With an average of 0.5dkh-1dkh per day, you’ll find the pack to last between 250-500 days making this extremely affordable!

There are plenty of test kits on the market suitable for both novice and advanced enthusiasts.

Salifert kits are on the budget side but are very effective and reliable for calcium, alkalinity, magnesium, potassium and nitrate.

When testing for phosphates, Hanna Checker are well known to be fairly accurate. Hanna Checker does cost a little more then the average titration method, but when convenience and accuracy are selling points this will always attract a higher price tag.

Neptune Apex is a great control unit for continual daily monitoring on a more elaborate scale and allows for direct monitoring on your smart phone. The system will display pH, Conductivity, Temperature and Oxidation Reduction Potential (ORP). This can be recorded on graphs and logged for future data processing and management of your system.

Certain calcium products may have a strontium blend. You may need to half the dosage with some of the bottles within the Trace Elements Support System. If your current supplements are not a ratio blend of other elements, you will have no issues utilising the Trace Elements Support System. For further information please contact us

The pack is dosed accordingly to the product instructions. Very simple
Fill each bottle with Reverse Osmosis (RODI) water to the top of bottle rim (this is the 1L mark)
  1. Reef Growth
  2. Reef Metals/Reef Metals Pro
  3. Reef Halogen
Mix 13ml of Reef Growth solution per 1L of calcium chloride solution – calcium
Mix 13ml of Reef Metals/Reef Metals PRO solution per 1L of calcium chloride solution – calcium
Mix 13ml of Reef Halogen solution per 1L of sodium carbonate (soda ash) solution – alkalinity.
Mix the Reef Booster powder with 2L of Reverse Osmosis (RODI) water. Stir until the content is completely dissolved. Empty the Reef Booster solution into dosing container. Daily dosing of 1ml per 100L of the systems full volume (for a heavily stocked tank). For standard systems not heavily stocked, dose 50% of the recommended dose.

No, potassium levels WILL NOT be effected by the Trace Elements Support System. Continue to dose and maintain your potassium as per usual.

For best results, potassium levels should be aimed between 400-430ppm

The Standard Pack consists of  “Reef Metals” which is designed for reef tanks stocking both LPS and SPS corals.

PRO pack consist of “Reef Metals PRO” which has a unique blend supporting the most growth and colouration specifically for SPS corals.

Randy recipe is an inexpensive homemade two-part calcium and alkalinity supplement. There are plenty of methods to making up your own DIY two part solution.

Depending on what recipe you choose, whether it be bicarb soda or soda ash, either will work in conjunction with the Reef Anabolics Trace Elements Support system. Dosing instructions (13ml per 1L) will not change.

Happy Reefing!

Yes, It does not matter how much your daily consumption is. 13ml per 1L solution Is all that is required.

In using the Reef Anabolics Trace Elements Support System, we have found the ideal parameters to be nothing far from the obvious. Many of our customers run Ultra Low Nutrients Systems (ULNS) with great success; however, the majority of our customers desire vibrant rich colours within their SPS dominant systems. This is achieved by allowing detectable nutrients.

For best results, we recommend:

Calcium: 400 – 440ppm

Alkalinity: 6.5 – 8dkh

Magnesium: 1280 – 1460ppm

Potassium: 380 – 440ppm

Nitrate: 1 – 2ppm

Phosphate: 0.01-0.08ppm

Utilising the Trace Elements Support System will reintroduce essential trace elements back into your aquarium allowing for longer periods of time without water changes. Water changes are a fundamental method of controlling nutrient fluctuations.

Every system is different. Depending on your water parameters will directly effect how your system reacts to your new Trace Elements Support System. If your aquarium is well-established, stable and meets the ideal parameters, you will see growth with a dramatic spike in alkalinity and calcium consumption within 3-4 weeks.

Depending on the size of your tank. One pack of Reef Anabolics Element Support System will last a 1000L tank 6months.
